A variety of services are available, ranging from assessments, job development and job coaching, and community support services, as well an independent living services. The flexibility of the Employment Links program allows for a great deal of creativity in designing individual program plans. The length and content of each program depends on the needs and goals of each person. Periodic evaluations are made to determine the proper progression to the next phase of development.
Assessment: During the assessment phase, career interests and skills are assessed
and employment opportunities are explored. A resume is developed, and areas that need
attention are identified and goals are established.
Job Development: This service is designed to provide the guidance and support that is needed to help individuals reach their employment goals. Assistance is available for
vocational training, employment seeking skills and employment leads, and application and
interviewing skills.
Job Coaching: A variety of levels of coaching services are available. One-to-one coaching, which is provided in most settings, is the highest level of coaching and is required at the beginning of all new job placements. Once the necessary skills are learned and maintained, coaching is adjusted to allow the greatest level of independence and success.
Community Support: These services enable the client to learn and master social skills, as well as work toward achieving success in independent communal skills. Assistance is available regarding public transportation, shopping, physical fitness, and peer-to-peer relationships. This support is designed to enable the client to successfully accomplish community involvement.
Independent Living: This service is designed to help the client live as independently as possible at the client’s home. Staff will evaluate the level of independence at their home and assist in providing opportunities for the development and exercise of age-appropriate skills, decision-making and daily living choices at the home.
